Years of learning, but still was not able to hold a conversation. So what made me change? It’s hard to expect someone to learn languages through random grammar or irrelevant vocabularies. How much do you think it will serve when you actually talk to people? It's about making personal connection. That’s what I realised when I nearly got my passport stolen while traveling Egypt. It made me speak, initiate and argue. I cared nothing but the conversation to deal with it. From then, I completely changed the way I learn.
